International History Study Programmes Overview

 

The Department of International History offers graduate students two degree options:

 

  • Master in International History >
  • PhD in International History >

 

The Master in International History is designed to provide in-depth disciplinary training to meet the increasing need for specialists of international affairs in today's world. The Masters programme also allows students to enter, subject to certain conditions, our PhD in International History.

Faculty of the Department of International History participate in the teaching of the Institute's interdisciplinary courses. These interdisciplinary courses and programmes are described on the Institute's Study Programmes page.

Students of the Department of Internatioal History are eligible to participate in academic exchanges with our many partner universities.  For more information, visit the Institute's Exchanges page.

Degrees awarded by the Graduate Institute are recognized by the University of Geneva.

Language Requirements

 

We would like to draw the attention of prospective students to the fact that some International History courses are taught in French.  The Graduate Institute is a bilingual (French-English) institute; for more on our linguistic policies, see the Institute's statement on this matter, as well as more pratical requirements for admission.
