Recent projects

  • Contemporary Forms of Bonded Labour in Southeast Asia . In partnership with the the Institute of Social Anthropology, Bern University. Coordination CAS: Prof. Jean-Luc Maurer. Annuska Derks, post-doctoral fellow, Le Thu Huong and Olivia Killias, PhD candidates are working on the project (migration in Vietnam and labour migration in Malaysia). Financed by the FNS, 2006-2011.

  • Large-scale Land Acquisitions in Southeast Asia: Rural Transformations between Global Agendas and Peoples' Rights to Food. In partnership with the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights and the University of Berne, Centre for Development and Environment. Coordination CAS: Dr Christophe Gironde.
  • Les hévéacultures familiales vietnamo-cambodgiennes et leur intégration dans la région du Mekong . In partnership with the Université du Mans (France), the University of Nong Lam (Vietnam) and the Université Royale d'Agriculture (Cambodia). Coordination CAS: Dr Christophe Gironde. Financed by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie. 2010-2011.

  • Déterminants sociaux de la santé et crise humanitaire au Myanmar. In partnership with the Centre pour l'Education et la Recherche en Action Humanitaire (CERAH/IHEID). Project conducted by Pr Jean-Daniel Rainhorn. Financed by the CERAH and the Direction du Développement et de la Coopération, Confédération suisse. 2010-2011.
