National Training ProgrammesThe CIG is a partner for different national governments wishing to provide specific training modules to the curriculum of their diplomatic schools. Training Programmes: The Centre signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of training activities and programmes with the Montenegrin Human Resources Management Authority in November 2009. This will be the basis for a long-term partnership aimed at strengthening the Montenegrin administrative capacity and developing human resources. The Centre received a mandate from the Swiss Development and Cooperation to organize 3 one-week training programmes in Pristina. Each of the programmes welcomes 15 to 20 junior diplomats who aim at enhancing their diplomatic skills and fine-tune their understanding of major international issues, such as the current economic crisis, the future of the multilateral trade system, human rights governance processes at the international level among others. Conceived as an annual crash-course on multilateral diplomacy activities in Geneva, this three-week programme is organised in partnership with the Geneva Center for Security Studies with the support of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. Since 2002, the Diplomatic Institute of Alger (IDRI) has included in its training for junior diplomats a one-month course in Geneva. The objective is to extend and update academic and practical knowledge relevant to work in the field of international governance. This course is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
Since 2006, government officials from the Republic of Guinea attend a one-month training programme on international relations practice at the Centre.
