The Global South Workshop is an opportunity for PhD students from universities in southern developing countries to present their research to and discuss it with professors and PhD candidates from the Institute in order to benefit from their expertise. In addition to facilitating intellectual exchange, this programme is intended to initiate the development of a network of young graduates from institutions of higher learning in the North and in the South. |

The 2011 workshop is jointly organised by the Graduate Institute, Geneva and the Gadjah Mada Graduate School; it will take place from 26 November to 3 December, 2011 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Candidates are selected on the basis of high-quality applications to participate in the all expenses paid week-long workshop. In 2010, the Institute received 90 applications and selected 13 participants.
