Visiting Fellows

The Institute hosts university professors, lecturers and researchers with independent funding keen to carry out research and take advantage of the resources and services the Institute has to offer (library, interaction with faculty members and students) as well as its unique location at the heart of international Geneva.

Visiting Fellow status are granted for a period of two months minimum up to one year.

PhD candidates and Fullbright nominees can request admission to the Junior Visiting Fellow status under the same procedure.

Conditions

  • Eligible candidates include post-doctoral students, researchers or professors from other universities working in one of the Institute’s disciplines or areas of specialisation;
  • Applicants must have independent funding.

Benefits

  • Access to library resources;
  • Access to IT services (Institute e-mail address, IT account, WiFi network);
  • Interaction facilitated by a professor responsible for liaison between the faculty and students and working in the same or a similar field of research;
  • Access to events organised by the Institute: conferences, roundtables, etc.;
  • Opportunity to present personal research work in a seminar.

Candidates willing to integrate more specifically a Research Center or a Research Programme of the Institute could apply directly to the Center.

Complete files are evaluated on the following dates :

  • 1 October
  • 1 March


Applications must include:

  • A letter of motivation stating the reasons for the application, the preferred semester, the discipline or domain of specialisation of the Institute in which the candidate is interested:
  • A brief summary of the research project;
  • A curriculum vitae, and if available, a list of publications.

Fee: CHF 500.- payable on confirmation of the admission status
