The Economics Department offers two degrees:

  • The Master in International Studies (MIS), with specialization in Economics. This 2 year program is designed for students who want to acquire a solid training specialized in economics, but are not interested in a doctoral program at this stage. The training includes courses in disciplines other than economics. In addition, students retain the option of applying for the PhD program. More details are found on the Masters page

  • The PhD in International Studies, with specialization in Economics. This 4 year program offers a formal advanced training with specialization in trade, international migrations, international macroeconomics, economic history, and development. Students can either enter the PhD program from the MIS, or directly if they have already followed a program in economics with a Master's degrees from another leading institution. More details are found on the PhD page.

The Graduate Institute offers a number of scholarships. Financial support is also available through Teaching Assistantships and research Assistantships.

Our graduates have obtained positions in a broad array of institutions in the private sector, policy institution, non-governmental organizations, and academia.
