Programme for the Study of Global Migration
Created in January 2008, The Programme for the Study of Global Migration (PSGM), based at the Graduate Institute, is devoted to the interdisciplinary study of migration linked to armed conflicts, generalized violence, persecution and ecological disasters. The Programme also focuses on the phenomenon of 'economic migration' and its contemporary implications.

- Professor Monsutti will be Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna, Departement of Social and Cultural Anthropology from 15 to 30 January 2012. He will give a course on "Insurgents, Refugees and Humanitarian Activists: A Political Anthropology of the Afghan Crisis" and a conference on "Afghans Without Borders: Mobility and the International World of Nations" (18 janvier 2012).
- Dr. Philippe Gazagne à travers « Dit vouloir mourir en Suisse », premier court-métrage documentaire du Programme (Cinédoc Productions, Annecy, 2011), vise à amorcer au sein du PGSM une réflexion à long terme sur les liens entre l’image et les sciences sociales. - The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation mandated Dr. Philippe Gazagne, Research Fellow at the Program for the Study of Global Migration, to work on a new project aiming to assess the capabilities of Sri Lankan migrants to invest productively in Sri Lanka. For more info click here
