Born in Baghdad, Dr. Sassoon received his Ph.D at St Antony's College, Oxford. He is the author of two books: Economic Policy in Iraq, 1932-1950 (London, Frank Cass, 1987); and The Iraqi Refugees: The New Crisis in the Middle East (London, IB Tauris, 2009). Among his articles: "Industrial Development in Iraq, 1958-1968", The New East, 1981, vol.XXX, pp.21-49; and "The Arab World in the Era of Globalization: An Economic Appraisal", Cohen, A.
