Carlotta is a PhD student in Development Economics at the Graduate Institute and a Research Assistant for the Centre of Finance and Development. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Bologna and a Master in International Economics from the Graduate Institute. Carlotta’s research focuses on gender and family policies that aim at improving women’s labor force participation and empowerment.

Her past experience includes working as a research assistant at the World Trade Organization and at the German Institute for Economic Research where she joined a project on herders coping with climate shocks in Mongolia. More recently, she contributed to the 2018 ILO report “Care work and care jobs”.
