Nathalie Monnet is a PhD candidate in International Economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and is affiliated with the Centre for Finance and Development as a Doctoral Researcher. She has been awarded a Doc.CH grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) for her current PhD research on the economics of conflict and violence.

Nathalie holds a Master’s degree in International Economics, from the Graduate Institute, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Geneva. She previously worked for the Consulate General of Switzerland in New York, US and the Swiss Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand.

Her primary research fields are development economics, applied econometrics, and conflict economics. Her current PhD research studies the economic causes and consequences of conflict and violence.
