This course is designed to review and analyze, leading puzzles on foreign policy, based on the substance of foreign policies of major countries in the present time and the recent past. The objective is to develop analytical skills to use when confronting new foreign policy puzzles. Much emphasis will be given in this course to the relevance of foreign policy scholarship to understanding real-world, contemporary world affairs. It is important that students make themselves aware of what is happening in the world. Exams. There will be two exams each semester in this course. Each is a take-home exam that will require extensive use of the course readings. Class participation (including class interaction and attendance) counts for 15% of the final grade.
