Mirko Reul is a doctoral researcher at the International Relations/Political Science department. His dissertation project examines how individuals are labeled as defectors in social conflict settings, and how labeling people for disloyalty influences political behavior. Mirko has conducted fieldwork in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and archival research on the former German Democratic Republic. He uses agent-based computational modeling, statistical models, text analysis, network analysis, and a lab experiment in his research.
