International law can be defined in numerous ways. Taking a profession-focused standpoint, this course will approach international law as something that a group of professionals do in various professional capacities (legal advisor to a government or an international organization, litigation counsel or advocate, activist or academic). The objective of the course is to identify and discuss the various projects that those professionals engage in with a particular focus on the professional language, unarticulated background assumptions and blind spots that unite the members of a particular professional universe.
