After Graduation

What have our students done after they graduated? Here are some answers from the surveys conducted by the Institute.

Our surveys of graduates carried out in 2018 show that 76% of the Institute’s students had obtained prior professional or internship experience, often in an international environment, during their studies. After graduation, the average time to secure employment for more than 90% of our students was less than 4 months.

One year after

The public sector attracted 35.9% of our graduates. More than half of them went to international organisations.

The next most popular sector was the third sector with 29.7% of the graduates. The majority of them chose non-governmental organisations working on a diverse range of issues.

The private sector accounted for 22.2% of our young graduates. Most of them chose multinationals and consulting.

The remaining 12.2% of our graduates either continued their studies towards a PhD or conducted research work as part of an academic institution.

Half of our graduates chose to begin their careers in Switzerland, while the others went on to work all over the world.

Six to eight years after (2010-2012)

Six to eight years after their graduation, 89% of the alumni have a stable professional activity whereas 7% of them are on leave (maternity, etc.) or are stay-at-home moms/dads.

The employment by sector remains quite stable even though the private sector seems to attract the more seasoned graduates.

43% of graduates choose to stay in Switzerland while the rest went off to work all around the world.
