Abstract
Leading policymakers and scholars in the fields of international migration, labour and human rights law will discuss on the International Migrants Bill of Rights (IMBR) Initiative.
The IMBR is a dynamic blueprint for the protection of the rights of migrants drawn from all areas of international law. It posits a group of rights that are "universal, interdependent and interrelated" and that populate the continuum from hard to hortatory.
The format of the symposium will consist of remarks by panelists, including Volker Turk, UNHCR; Vincent Chetail, Graduate Institute, Geneva; Ryszard Cholewinski, ILO; Pia Oberoi, OHCHR; Kristina Touzenis, IOM; and Patrick Taran, ILO, followed by an active conversation involving the student drafters and discussants.
