Esther has started her academic studies in Geneva with a bachelor in International Relations focusing on international law and political science. Already back then, a special interest in environment motivated her to participate in student associations aiming to promote ethical and ecological lifestyle among students. She decided to continue her studies with a dual degree programme in Global Health from the University of Geneva and in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. She is now finishing her master's in International Affairs following the specialization track in Environment, Resources and Sustainability. This gave her the expertise needed to apprehend different global issues related to health and the environment. In 2020, she joined the Centre for International Environmental Studies (CIES) as a research assistant on the research project "PANARCHIC" (led by Prof. James Hollway) to further develop her skills and training in environmental affairs.
