Rosalind Tan is a Master’s candidate in International Affairs at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), specialising in Global Security. Her research interests include post-colonial critical theory, discourse analysis and illiberal peacebuilding. She is a student researcher on the SNSF PRIMA project “A child of its time: the impact of world politics on peacebuilding” at the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP).

Prior to pursuing her Master's degree, she worked for five and a half years in venture capital and artificial intelligence. She has extensive experience overseeing and implementing data projects for the private and public sector, ranging from financial modelling to policy analysis.

Early 2019, she launched a consulting practice focused on helping SMEs and NGOs in Southeast Asia secure funding and improve corporate governance and operations. This practice is anchored in the belief that sustainable economic approaches are imperative to peacebuilding and development. It remains active today.

She holds a joint-honours degree in Philosophy & French (Hons.) from the University of Oxford. She completed her thesis on imperialism and postcolonial critical theory, and worked as a French-English translator of political and philosophical works during her year abroad in Paris. She has completed multiple language and cultural exchanges in China, France and Italy.
