The Geneva Trade and Development Workshop (GTDW) is a joint seminar series of the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM), the Graduate Institute in Geneva (IHEID), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). After twelve years of running as an on-site seminar, we are joining forces with the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) to bring the GTDW online to share frontier research in trade and development.

About the Speaker

Amit Khandelwal is the Jerome A. Chazen Professor of Global Business at the Columbia Graduate School of Business. He is an economists and he is affiliated with the Review of Economics and Statistics as the Co-Chair Editor, JPAL, NBER, BREAD, IGC and Brookings as a Non-Resident Fellow. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University. His research interests examine issues in international and development economics, including the strategic response of firms to trade liberalisations and increased international competition.
