The resolution of international water disputes would normally require the assessment of scientific and technical information. This presentation offers some views on how well prepared are the legal teams working with the Parties and the international tribunals called to decide international water disputes to work with and evaluate hydrological models and expert reports.

Event programme:

  • Welcome remarks by Laurence Boisson de Chazournes, Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Geneva and Director, Platform for International Water Law, Geneva Water Hub.
  • Lecture by Ximena Fuentes, Professor of Public International Law at the Faculty of Law of Universidad de Chile and Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile.
  • Q&A session with the public
