Populism 4.0 and decent digiwork

The Covid-19 crisis is accelerating the outsourcing of work to lower-paid workers in the gig economy. At the same time, gig economy workers have themselves been severely impacted by the pandemic; many have lost their jobs without access to adequate protection. Yet the disruption may also offer an opportunity to move towards a fairer future of work, in turn making societies more resilient and less vulnerable to a new brand of populism.
