Our Student Support and Wellbeing Team is here to help you! Together we will seek for a solution and/or clarify whether further psychological treatment from the "Pôle Santé Social", or elsewhere, would be helpful.

At the Graduate Institute 

The Student Wellbeing and Support Service is there to accompany you in stressful situations or questions related to your security, health and wellbeing! We can also help you find a specialist and to take an appointment. Together we will focus on finding solutions to your concern.  Confidentiality policy applies !

Students are offered one free meeting per semester with a psychologist (member of the Geneva Association of Psychologists, AGPsy) at the Graduate Institute for an orientation session of 45 minutes, which aims to assess the student's concern(s) and facilitate further access to psychological support in "Pôle Sante" or another institution according to your needs. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO FOLLOW A THERAPY with our inhouse psychologists.

From beginning October to June :

To make an appointment (online or in person) with one of the psychologists from AGPsy on Tuesday or Thursday between 5.30 pm and 8.30 pm, click here.

You will receive an email confirming the appointment and it will be important to remember the date and time since you will not receive a reminder. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your appointment (via the confirmation email). No-show appointments will be charged CHF 20.-.

During the Summer and Winter breaks :

1. The "Pôle Santé" of the University of Geneva offers you adapted solutions and access welfare services, available through our long-lasting collaboration with them:

* In case of financial difficulty and if you struggle to pay for your sessions at the Pôle Santé, please contact in order to assess your eligibility and find out if the Institute can help by partially covering the costs associated to your treatment. Please note that your treatment has to involve at least three sessions in order to be reviewed.

Update (16 September 2020): Coronavirus by Pôle Santé services

In case of questions or if you need assistance to arrange an appointment (in English), feel free to reach out to

  • Ongoing psychotherapy sessions continue to be available, by telephone or Zoom.

  • Psychotherapies can be done at the Pôle Santé or can be redirected to another support source depending on your insurance coverage (to be discussed with the Pôle Santé psychotherapist). You then maybe put on a waiting list where it may take several months for space to become available.

  • An individual coaching service is available to students of the Graduate Institute, who struggle with questions related to their personal, academic and professional lives. Max. 6 sessions of 60 to 75 minutes will allow having a better perspective of their future plans. For mental health issues, online psychotherapy sessions will be more adapted.

2. Students of the Graduate Institute may also require a consultation at the HUG (Hôpital cantonal of Geneva)

The Consultation for Students is part of the HUG Division of Primary Care. Patients are seen by general practitioners knowledgeable about young adults’ health concerns. A consultation also provides easy access to the Geneva hospital network specialists.

Corona Virus – We are all concerned !

Costs related to the test are covered by a swiss health insurance.

Questions related to COVID, by HUG (Geneva Hospital)

  • If you are showing acute respiratory symptoms and/or if you have a fever 

  • If you are travelling soon and need a screening test and/or a health certifiate (Monday – Friday / week-ends)

  • If you have received a message from the cantonal physician’s service or the Swisscovid application indicating that you are required to be tested for COVID-19

Workshops at the University of Geneva

  • SporTheraPsy (NEW)
    SporThéraPsy is a psychological care program based on sports practice. Through group sessions integrating experimentation through movement with psychoeducational interventions, SporThéraPsy aims to help participants develop their skills by understanding different fundamental psychological concepts that drive every individual. The purpose of this workshop is to help you discover, over the course of the sessions, tools and strategies that may be useful to you during your studies and more generally in your daily life.
