Sustainable Finance @ The Graduate Institute

At the Institute, we believe that peace today is unthinkable without sustainability. We also believe that finance has a key role to play in the necessary collective transformation that this implies.

The Graduate Institute has a long-standing tradition of connecting finance with development. We build on those strengths to expand our contribution towards finance for sustainability.

Advancing sustainable finance to address the Sustainable Development Goals

The Graduate Institute is proud to be part of Building Bridges from 29 November to 2 December.

Buidling Bridges is more than an event. It is an open and collaborative effort that aims to accelerate the transition to a sustainable financial system.

Building Bridges brings diverse actors from the finance industry, the United Nations, international organisations, NGOs, academia, and government together in collaboration around a common vision of advancing sustainable finance to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Below is a list of sessions either organised by the Graduate Institute, or that feature members of our community.

29 November: Building Bridges Summit

10:00: Opening remarks: Marie-Laure Salles, Director of the Graduate Institute, will be one of the speakers providing opening remarks at the opening session of the Summit.

The Swiss Lab for Sustainable Finance

The Graduate Institute Centre for Finance Development launched the Swiss Lab for Sustainable Finance, in September 2021, thanks to the generosity of the Pictet Foundation.

The Lab is a multistakeholder and transdisciplinary lab. It will advance sustainable finance research and practice focusing on financing the SDG goals and will produce research that can be applied to their fulfillment.

Executive Education: Sustainable Finance for development

The Master of Advanced Studies in Sustainable Finance and Development (60 ECTS) is a one-year postgraduate degree course that provides advanced, broad-ranging and practice-oriented training.
