Call for proposals: Global Health Centre events during 74th WHA

The GHC invites the global health community to contribute to critical discussions during the 74th WHA. We welcome proposals for co-organised events on governance, politics and power in global health until 15 March 2021.

The 74th World Health Assembly, 24 May-1 June 2021, is an annual opportunity for the global health community – including governments, international organisations, civil society, the private sector, journalists, scholars, students and the general public – to learn about and debate critical global health challenges.

Continuing the tradition from previous years, the GHC will organise the Open Briefing for delegates on Thursday, 20 May and will also convene a series of ground-breaking, critical discussions with diverse viewpoints to take place during the 74th WHA week.

As part of the commitment to the principle of open global health, we have launched this open call for proposals for events during the WHA, 24-28 May 2021. These may be breakfast, lunchtime or evening events. We especially seek panel discussions, lectures, film screenings, debates or briefings on topics that explore the GHC’s thematic focus on governance, politics and power in global health. Due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, these events will take place in a virtual format.

Please complete this short online proposal about your event by no later than 11:59pm (CET) on Monday, 15 March 2021. Proposals will be selected to ensure that the week covers a diverse range of issues. We will contact all applicants by the end of March.
