Gender equity is often neglected in health research and development. Because of biological, social, and other factors, women can be more severely impacted by certain diseases. However, they have been under-represented in pre-clinical and clinical research, which has resulted in limited data on the risks and benefits of their use of health tools and fewer therapeutic options available to them. A transformative, gender-inclusive approach to research, data-gathering and product development is essential to develop the health tools that meet women’s needs throughout their lifecycle. Join us for an in-depth conversation on gender inequities in research and how to empower women to make informed decisions about their health by including them in research.
