Bringing together a global coalition of trusted institutions, the Alliance serves as the umbrella under which a series of targeted workstreams operate. These span from country-level diagnostics and joint venture guidance to trainings on financing tools for policymakers and civil society. While recognizing the legacy role of dominant actors in today’s supply chains, the Alliance creates space to explore complementary production, responsible investment, and more geographically distributed value addition, without defaulting to adversarial framing.

Instead, it equips stakeholders with the data, tools, and convening spaces needed to negotiate fairer outcomes, advance industrial partnerships, and support diversified growth strategies that align with climate and development objectives. Its programming is deliberately modular and multilateral, allowing governments, companies, and civil society to focus on the elements most relevant to their national contexts or investment priorities.

The Alliance supports dialogue and delivery across key nodes of the supply chain, and serves as a connective tissue among a growing number of global work programs—some focused on policy reform, others on investment mechanisms or capacity building. It is particularly committed to elevating the perspectives of mineral-rich countries, ensuring their long-term development ambitions are integral to the global transition.
