The Geneva Graduate Institute, the Kofi Annan Foundation, the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform and the Caux Initiative of Change Foundation are pleased to announce the fourth edition of the Kofi Annan Geneva Peace Address, a high-level lecture on peace, held every year as part of Geneva Peace Week.

The 2024 Kofi Annan Geneva Peace Address will be delivered by Mary Robinson, first woman President of Ireland, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Chair of The Elders. The event will also feature Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Peace Institute.

Together, they will explore innovative strategies for fostering sustainable peace alongside three exceptional young peacebuilders.

  • Nashiba Nakabira, African Youth Ambassadors for Peace, East Africa
  • Arizza Ann Nocum, Kofi Annan Changemakers, Kofi Annan Foundation
  • Maruee Pahuja, Creative Leadership Youth Team, Caux Initiatives of Change Foundation

Ahmad Fawzi, one of Kofi Annan’s former spokespersons and Communication Advisor, will moderate the discussion.

The Kofi Annan Geneva Peace Address is organised with the support of the Republic and State of Geneva and the City of Geneva, and will be introduced by Marie Barbey-Chappuis, Member of the Executive Council of the City of Geneva, and Achim Wennmann, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Professor of Practice in the Interdisciplinary Programme and Nagulendran Chair in Peace Mediation at the Geneva Graduate Institute.

The event will also include a special musical performance from the Ecolint Orchestra.
