From the Classroom to the Field: IRPS Career Stories - Politics, Policy, and Advocacy

The Roundtable on Careers in International Relations and Political Science seeks to create a space for discussion among students, alumni, and professionals from a variety of international affairs fields. The event is being organized by Geneva Graduate Institute second-year MA students from the IR/PS program. Its goal is to provide participants with a greater understanding of the range of career options, from politics and policy research to advocacy in international organizations and NGOs.

The Roundtable invites students to consider how to transition “from the classroom to the field” by applying the knowledge, analytical, and social skills they have acquired during their studies to real-world problems and future careers. Furthermore, the event will focus on emphasizing the practical skills, adaptability, and mindset required to build a strong professional profile and fulfilling career in an ever-changing world.

Speakers :

  • Tamar Gabelnick: Director of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines - Cluster Munition Coalition

  • Adele Gambaro: GLG Independent Political Consultant and Former Senator of the Italian Republic

  • Jeroen Klok: UPR Country Coordinator at the UN Human Rights Office)
