Antoine Pécoud is a Professor of Sociology at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, a member of the Institut universitaire de France, and Director of the POLICY department at the Institut Convergences Migrations. His work focuses on international migration, global migration governance, and the political narratives that shape mobility. He previously held research and expert roles at UNESCO within the Social and Human Sciences sector, contributing to international debates on migration and multicultural policies.
He holds a PhD in social anthropology from the University of Oxford and an Habilitation à diriger des recherches (HDR) from the University of Paris 7. His extensive publications examine the institutions, discourses, and power dynamics that structure global migration governance, including influential books and collaborative works on migration management, human rights, and international organizations. Pécoud is also actively involved in academic networks and research programs across Europe, contributing to both scholarly and policy-oriented discussions on migration.
