The keynote address From disparities to diversities: breaking the glass ceiling for women and indigenous representation in politics will be delivered by Karen Dayana Chica Gomez, Dr. Moira Faul, Sonia Murcia and LANI’s Anti-Harassment Coordinator Carmen Mané. The speakers will focus on the challenges that women and indigenous people face when it comes to political representation in Latin America, through the presentation of their insight on how to break the glass ceiling and create a more diverse and inclusive political landscape in the region.

Join LANI for the first panel of From Disparities to Diversities Megaproyectos: human rights violations, environmental degradation and accountability with Carlo Carvajal, Nathalia Cortez, and Dr. Lucas Figueroa. The panel will be moderated by LANI’s member Valeria Castellanos.
Panellists will explore the impact of megaproyectos on human rights and the environment in Latin America, as well discussing the challenges of holding companies accountable for the negative outcomes of their activities.

The panel will be moderated by LANI’s Events Coordinator Nicole Vargas.
Panellists will explore the challenges of balancing economic growth and sustainability in Latin America by analysing the consequences of current growth models and exploring alternative approaches to shape a more sustainable and equitable future for the region.

Join LANI for the first workshop of From Disparities to Diversities, Gender in transitional justice: reviewing peace processes in Latin America with Mary Diaz Marquez and Felipe Jaramillo Ruiz. The panel will be moderated by Ana Balcazar and LANI’s President Alessia Mandaglio.
The workshop will explore the inclusion and role of gender in transitional justice processes in Latin America. The analysis of Colombia's peace process will be the first step towards understanding the challenges and successes of including gender perspectives in transitional justice processes. Active audience participation is strongly encouraged.

Join LANI for the second workshop of From Disparities to Diversities, A history of exploitation of natural resources and neo-colonialism in Latin America with Dr. Mauricio Lorca. The panel will be moderated by students Martin Eggenberger and José Daniel Reyes Silva.
The workshop will focus on the inherent resource exploitation and neo-colonialism aicting Latin America: from cocoa, sugar, and coee, to coca and lithium. Starting from a case study, participants will explore this part of the region's history, analysing its dynamics and looking at possible solutions in terms of re-appropriation and sustainable development. Active audience participation is strongly encouraged.
