About the Exhibition
Echos of Reality is a tribute to activists who gave their lives defending justice, equity, and human rights. Through ten mixed-media portraits, rendered on body bags as canvases, the exhibition confronts the costs of courage while reminding us of our collective responsibility to carry forward these legacies.
About the Artist
Álvaro Sebastián Quiroz Bolaños is a leading Mexican painter and activist whose work merges artistic practice with social transformation. Named a Young Activists Summit Laureate in 2024, he has campaigned globally in solidarity with houseless communities and the LGBTQIA+ movement. He co-founded Brigada 12 (2021), empowering people in crisis conditions across Latin America, and later launched IRIS, a global media and arts platform using creativity for social good.
