The Geneva Challenge 2022 invited students from around the world to devise solutions to the complex issue of poverty reduction on the pathway to sustainable development.

On the occasion of the Award Ceremony, Elhadj As Sy, Chair of the Board of the Kofi Annan Foundation and former Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), will discuss the importance of equity for poverty reduction. Professor Martina Viarengo, Chair of the Academic Steering Committee for the Geneva Challenge, will moderate the lecture. 

Following the keynote address by Elhadj As Sy, the Jury of the Geneva Challenge will announce the winners of this year’s edition and award the five finalist teams, one per continent, for their innovative and pragmatic solutions addressing the challenges of poverty reduction. 

The oral presentations of the finalist teams in front of the Jury will take place on the same day from 13:45 to 16:45.
