How do you move from “I want to work in international development” to a clear, realistic, and actionable career strategy?

In this practical session, Dr. Manuela Morelli, Founder & CEO of Talentum, will explore how the global development sector is evolving in response to geopolitical shifts, funding pressures, and systemic crises, and how professionals can remain proactive and strategic in managing their careers, positioning, and long-term development within an increasingly uncertain landscape.

The session will also introduce practical approaches to career management and decision-making through the 3D Career Method (Define–Detect–Develop). You will leave with a stronger understanding of how to position yourself, how to map relevant organisations and entry points, build a targeted network, and create a practical career development plan.

Drawing on over 20 years of international HR management experience across the non-profit sector, including UNICEF, WHO, the UN Secretariat in New York and Nairobi, FAO, and ITU, as well as experience with the European Union and multinational corporations, Dr. Morelli will help you clarify your direction, identify and anticipate opportunities, and translate your goals into concrete next steps.
