The “psychedelic renaissance” – the surging interest in the potential of psychedelics for improving mental health – has largely focused on MDMA, psilocybin and LSD. Switzerland is the only country where these substances are authorized in use with patients; last year, over 1000 patients were treated with these substances through a special program of the Office of Public Health.

5-meo-DMT (also known as “Bufo”, “Jaguar”, or “the God Molecule”) occupies a special place in psychedelic therapy. Known for its uniquely powerful effect (called “ego dissolution” in scientific parlance), it is currently gaining ground in clinical studies.

In this panel, we will explore the history and phenomenology of 5-meo-DMT experience, and share insights from Chad’s broad experience with this substance (with more than 1000 sessions supervised) over the past 10 years as well as discuss the range of settings and approaches used with 5-meo-DMT.

Chad is an experienced 5-meo-DMT practitioner; Vinh-Kim is Professor of Anthropology at the Graduate Institute and also a practicing physician trained in psychedelic medicine; Kirsten is a former broadcast journalist with BCTV and is currently studying Anthropology at the Graduate Institute.
