Hosted by the Geneva Graduate Institute's Global Migration Centre (IHEID-GMC), this event marks the official launch of Muhammed Lamin Dibba’s policy monograph, Inside the System, Grounded in critical auto-ethnography and socio-legal analysis (Art. 29 Swiss Federal Constitution; Kindeswohl), the monograph examines administrative governance, procedural timeliness, and fatherhood within European migration frameworks. The launch brings together multilateral diplomats, academic researchers, and diaspora leaders to explore human-centered, evidence-based migration reform.

Presentation

Muhammed Lamin Dibba is an international development practitioner, migration specialist, author, and Founder of the Institute for Governance, Development, Migration, and Mobility (IGDMM). He holds a Master’s degree from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva. His professional trajectory spans diplomatic and multilateral engagements across the United Nations ecosystem, including diplomatic training at the Permanent Mission of The Gambia to the United Nations in New York, interning with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and completing an Applied Research Project hosted by UNHCR focusing on forced return frameworks. Additionally, through Jobs Consulting Gambia, he supported the operationalization and refurbishment of The Gambia’s first Job Center funded by the UN Peacebuilding Fund. His research and policy work focus on migration governance and socio-legal procedural rights, bridging scholar-practitioner insights with lived administrative experience in Europe.
