We invite you to join us for the hybrid roundtable titled Inspire Students: Professions in the Field of Diplomacy on Tuesday, March 19th from 12:30 - 13:30 CET, either on webex or in room S5. This event takes place in collaboration with the Junior Diplomat Initiative (JDI) and the Professional Development Committee (PDC) and is part of the programme of this year's Alumnae-i Month.

Following the Roundtable, a networking coffee break will be offered until 14:00.

Our panellists are:

Karolina-Frischkopf

Karolina Frischkopf (MINT’05) began her career at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), and worked in Permanent Missions in Mexico, Geneva, and Beijing as well as the HQ in Bern. She also worked in and managed different associations during her career, including the Swiss Red Cross. Recently, she became the first woman Director of the Entraide protestante suisse (HEKS/EPER).

Mark-Cassayre

Mark Cassayre (MIRPS’97) is the Permanent Observer of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) to the United Nations in Geneva. He is a seasoned former US diplomat with more than 25 years of experience. His time at the US Department of State led him to work in Kenya, Ukraine, Namibia, Mozambique and Switzerland. Mark’s first experience in diplomacy was at the Mission of South Korea to the UN, Geneva.

Mathilde-Pasta

Mathilde Pasta (MIA’22) is Third Secretary to the Permanent Mission of Monaco to the UN in Geneva. Upon graduating, Mathilde joined the Monegasque Foreign Affairs Service and was stationed in Geneva for her 1st posting where she now covers global health and humanitarian affairs. Previously, she worked in various national and international organisations including the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

Miguel-Carricas-Laspalas

Miguel Carricas Laspalas (MIA’21) graduated from the Geneva Graduate Institute in 2021. He then took the diplomatic exam in Spain and got the highest grade, finishing 1st out of +700 candidates. He now works in the Europe Department of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His first diplomatic experience was as a liaison officer for the President of Switzerland at the European Political Community summit in Granada.
