Fragmented Justice? Navigating Disputes in the Age of Global Legal Regimes
Drawing on her experience as arbitrator, international judge, UN mandate holder and Professor Emerita at the University of Buenos Aires, Professor Pinto will address “Fragmented Justice? Navigating Disputes in the Age of Global Legal Regimes.”
Professor Mónica Pinto is a counsel and advisor in international law cases, an arbitrator, and a member of ad hoc committees in foreign investment disputes. She has extensive professional experience before universal and regional human rights bodies, arbitral tribunals, and the International Court of Justice. Her practice and academic work span public international law, international adjudication, investment arbitration, and international human rights law. She regularly serves in judicial, arbitral, and advisory roles within leading international and regional institutions and is widely recognised for her contribution to the development and application of international law.
The lecture will explore how disputes are increasingly managed across multiple international and domestic fora, the strategic use of parallel proceedings, and the growing gap between disputes and the claims adjudicated by courts and tribunals—offering critical insights into todayʼs complex international legal landscape.
The event will be followed by a cocktail reception.
