Join the Peace Building Initiative for our special edition of Peace Café at Geneva Peace Week with Guila-Clara Kessous!
How can creative peacebuilding and the arts be used to build more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient peace across the globe and improve outcomes for conflict-affected communities? Join us for the conversation with Guila-Clara Kessous, a UNESCO Artist for Peace, executive coach, and humanitarian engaged in the fields of leadership, culture, and human rights. Trained at Harvard University, she combines expertise in the performing arts with applied research in leadership development, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Guila‑Clara has designed and led programs for leaders, diplomats, and organizations worldwide, focusing on emotional intelligence, resilience, and ethical decision‑making.
In addition to her work as a coach and trainer, she is committed to advancing peacebuilding and social justice through the arts, supporting initiatives that highlight the voices of marginalized communities. Her work bridges creativity and advocacy, inspiring leaders to foster inclusion, human dignity, and cross‑cultural understanding.
She will be sharing her insights on the topic “Towards Artistic Diplomacy: How Can Art Contribute to Peace?” The event will also feature an acoustic performance of “Mothers of the Earth,” a new song by Guila-Clara Kessous and Anna Torres, dedicated to raising funds for Congolese mothers affected by the war in the DRC.
