The Swiss Society of Economics and Statistics (SSES) Annual Congress 2019  is to be held on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 June 2019 at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.

The special theme of the Annual Congress 2019 is Sustainable Development.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Keynote speeches will be delivered by:

  • Eliana La Ferrara (Bocconi University) on Aspirations, Stereotypes and Educational Choices

  • Omer Moav (Warwick University) on The Emergence of Hierarchies and States: Productivity vs. Appropriability

  • Debraj Ray (New York University) on Similarity, Difference and Conflict

The event is locally organised by the Graduate Institute's Centre for Finance and Development and Department of International Economics. The members of the Local Organising Committee are Professors Jean-Louis Arcand, Rahul Mukherjee, Ugo Panizza, Cedric Tille, and Lore Vandewalle.

REGISTRATION
Participants - whether presenting or only attending the event - have to register, and pay the conference fees, on the SSES website.

The costs for attending the conference are:
- CHF 300 conference fee + CHF 100 SSES membership fee as regular member
- CHF 125 conference fee + CHF 30 SSES membership fee as student member

VENUE
The SSES Annual Congress 2019 will take place at the Graduate Institute Geneva, Maison de la paix, Chemin Eugène-Rigot, 2a, 1202 Geneva.
