In partnership with the State of Geneva, HES-SO Genève, the University of Geneva, and the Pôle de Création Numérique, this unique ciné-club explores the impact of technology on our societies, examining future perspectives while taking today’s reality as a starting point.
About the film
For this edition, we will be screening The Matrix, the cult science fiction film that redefined how we think about reality, technology, and control.
By day, Thomas Anderson is an ordinary programmer. By night, under the alias Neo, he is a hacker searching for answers to a question that haunts him: What is the Matrix? Contacted by the mysterious Morpheus, Neo is drawn into a hidden world where appearances collapse and reality itself is called into question.
Blending philosophical inquiry with groundbreaking visual storytelling, The Matrix invites us to reflect on the nature of perception, freedom, and the growing power of digital systems in shaping human experience.
Discussion
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the audience led by Jérôme Duberry, Director of the Tech Hub, exploring the implications of the film in light of today’s technological transformations.
