As Geneva envisions a more sustainable future for the city, how can diverse youth voices shape an inclusive green transition? This interactive workshop brings together participants from across Geneva’s international and local communities to co-create new pathways for youth engagement at the intersection of climate action and democratic participation.
ˆThe session will convene students at the centre, alongside young environmental advocates, international organizations, local officials, and community changemakers. Together, we’ll map out existing systems and challenges that both support and hinder an inclusive green transition in Geneva, including civic involvement, environmental stewardship, and equity. We will then explore innovative strategies to address them by including all stakeholders involved.
Designed as both a standalone experience and the beginning of a transformative journey towards co-creating impact, this workshop will set the stage for future collaboration with Geneva-based foundations and institutions, aiming to amplify youth-led solutions for just and inclusive climate transitions in the city and in the Canton.
Students who wish to take part are warmly encouraged to email democracy@graduateinstitute.ch by 20 September.
The venue and other logistical information will be communicated in the confirmation email.
This event takes place in the context of the Geneva Democracy Week as part of the programme organised by the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy. It is organised in conjunction with the project Youth climate activism and local institutions: reframing democratic spaces at a time of polarisation.
