SYNOPSIS

Too Hot (Trop chaud), directed by Benjamin Weiss, follows the remarkable legal battle of the Aînées pour le climat (Elders for Climate Protection) — a group of retired women who took the Swiss government to court for failing to protect them from the impacts of climate change. The film traces their journey all the way to the European Court of Human Rights, which in 2024 delivered a historic ruling against Switzerland.

More than a climate documentary, it offers an inside look at how complex legal cases are built, how science meets the law, and what it means to hold a state accountable. Even after their victory, the Aînées continue to push for concrete action to ensure real climate protection for vulnerable groups and future generations.

PANEL DISCUSSION

The screening will be followed by a moderated panel discussion and an apéro.

The event is presented in collaboration with the Festival du Film Vert, continuing last year’s partnership.
