We are pleased to invite you to the inauguration of a special exhibition marking the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations, hosted at the FAB, Geneva Graduate Institute, on 12 October 2026.
Through a selection of stories drawn from more than 250 contributions representing 193 countries, the exhibition highlights the breadth of the UN's work and its impact on people's lives across the globe. From peace and security to human rights, humanitarian action, sustainable development, and international cooperation, these stories illustrate how multilateralism continues to shape our shared future.
For this occasion, representatives of the United Nations will join us to present four selected stories from four different corners of the world, highlighting the breadth and diversity of the UN's work. Featured stories from Iraq, South Sudan, the United Kingdom, and the United States explore issues ranging from agriculture and development, conflict and displacement, water and environmental protection, to international trade and intellectual property. Together, they offer a unique lens through which to reflect on the local and global impact of international cooperation.
Following brief introductory remarks, participants will have the opportunity to engage in an informal conversation with UN colleagues, ask questions, and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing multilateralism today.
We warmly encourage students, faculty, researchers, and members of our centres and programmes to join this exchange and contribute to a rich discussion on the value of multilateralism in an increasingly interconnected world.
