The Stories of the Future project is nominated for the 2024 edition of the Geneva Youth Prize.
With Artificial Intelligence becoming increasingly central and transformative to our societies, raising awareness, particularly among the youth, of how this technology is reshaping our democracies and imaginaries is essential. By engaging young people’s curiosity and interest in AI, a road is paved towards greater engagement and representativity in the development and applications of the technology.
This is the objective of the Stories of the Future project, hosted at the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy, which was nominated for Geneva Prix Jeunesse 2024 (Geneva’s Youth Prize), in the category “An engagement towards young people”. Through the project, over 50 workshops were conducted, reaching over 600 young people across Switzerland and over 200 in Geneva alone. It has sought to reach young people from a wide range of social and educational backgrounds, conducting workshops in both vocational and academic secondary and tertiary schools.

L'intelligence artificielle devenant de plus en plus centrale et transformatrice pour nos sociétés, il est essentiel de sensibiliser les jeunes à la manière dont cette technologie remodèle nos démocraties et nos imaginaires. En éveillant la curiosité et l'intérêt des jeunes pour l'IA, on ouvre la voie à un plus grand engagement et à une plus grande représentativité dans le développement et les applications de cette technologie.
Tel est l'objectif du projet Stories of the Future, hébergé par le Centre Albert Hirschman pour la démocratie, qui a été nominé pour le Prix Jeunesse 2024 de Genève dans la categorie "Un engagement en faveur de la jeunesse". Dans le cadre de ce projet, plus de 50 ateliers ont été organisés, touchant plus de 600 jeunes dans toute la Suisse et plus de 200 dans la ville de Genève. Le projet s'est efforcé d'atteindre des jeunes issus d'un large éventail de milieux sociaux et éducatifs, en organisant des ateliers dans des écoles secondaires et tertiaires, tant professionnelles qu'académiques.
