Alumnus Yannick Roulin, New Director of the FIPOI

Former Ambassador and Director of the International Geneva Welcome Centre (CAGI), alumnus Yannick Roulin is the new Director of the Foundation for Buildings for International Organizations (FIPOI). 

The FIPOI is a Swiss non-profit, created in 1964 by the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Geneva, that helps to provide infrastructure for international organisations in Geneva.

Yannick Roulin has extensive experience of Geneva’s international and local communities, gained through his recent diplomatic posts in Geneva and Bern, as well as through his dealings with the authorities and institutions of the city and canton of Geneva.

Active in Swiss diplomacy since 2004, Yannick Roulin notably served as Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva (2018–2023), as well as Head of the International Organisations and Host Policy Section of the United Nations Division within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in Bern (2013 – 2018). He previously held diplomatic posts in Beijing, Bern and Ottawa.

Before joining the FDFA, Yannick Roulin worked at the State Secretariat for Migration, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), and in the private sector. He holds two Master’s degrees from the Institute, one in interdisciplinary studies (1999) and the other in international law (2002).
