Ambizione Fellowships at the International Law Department

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) awards Ambizione grants for postdoctoral researchers who wish to conduct, manage and lead an independent project at a Swiss higher education institution. They are awarded for up to four years. and the next deadline for applications is 1 November 2026.

The Graduate Institute’s International Law Department is happy to host Ambizione Fellows and to support applications. 
If you are interested in applying to an Ambizione project hosted with the Department, please send us a file comprising the following elements:

  • an abstract
  • a brief version of the proposal (1500-2000 words)
  • a CV including list of publication and the names of two referees
  • three writing samples (e.g., recent publications)
  • evaluations of teaching and syllabi (if available)
  • and if possible, a draft of the proposal as a whole.

All candidates’ files will be discussed by the department faculty, with a decision on support by early October 2026.
