CDHM Workshop: "History & Prosopography of International Organizations: Methodologies and Digital Aspects"

The CDHM hosts workshops that engage interdisciplinary affiliates and guests across its thematic Axes, research community, and archival network for the purposes of intellectual exchange and project-building.

On February 4 -5, the CDHM hosted its flagship workshop through Axis 1 (with strong thematic and research links to Axes 2 and 3) entitled “History & Prosopography of International Organisations: Methodologies and Digital Aspects.”

Located at the Domaine Barton, Geneva and welcoming approximately 65 attendees across both days, the workshop comprised a total of four panels and two roundtable sessions inspiring integrated group discussion on methodological choices and digital tools, challenges and opportunities with new archival research technologies, and the reflexive relationships among archival materials, researchers and archivists — on topics ranging from Women in IO and UN histories, the ‘mapping out’ via digital prosopography of IO, UN and parliamentary staff, and digitisation, data visualisation and network analysis, among others.

A roundtable on Oral History project legacies on Day One and a closing roundtable welcoming more than a dozen archivists of International Geneva on Day Two allowed for fruitful exchanges among Digital Humanities researchers and archival professionals that set the pace for no less than six upcoming CDHM collaborations in 2025 (and counting).
