On November 11, the Center on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) hosted an engaging discussion on the evolving political landscape in post-Assad Syria. The conversation addressed the recent violent attacks in Sweida and their broader implications for political order, minority rights, transitional justice, and stability in the country.
We were honored to welcome Professor and CCDP faculty associate Christiana Parreira, UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues and Professor Nicolas Levrat , and visiting research fellow and Professor Raslan Ibrahim. Their insights shed light on the complex challenges of building an inclusive and just political future for Syria, and on the essential role the United Nations can play in safeguarding minority rights during this fragile transition.
The CCDP extends its sincere thanks to the speakers and participants for contributing to such a rich exchange of ideas.
