Global Health 2012

GHP publication contains authoritative contributions from world experts.

The inaugural edition of "Global Health 2012" was published by the Global Health Programme and the University of Toronto to coincide with the 65th World Health Assembly (WHA) held in Geneva, Switzerland, 21-26 May 2012. Edited by Professor Ilona Kickbusch, Dr James Orbinski and Professor John Kirton, together with Michaela Told and Madeline Koch, this publication explores how organisations responsible for improving health and well-being worldwide can address the many challenges in global health. It contains authoritative contributions from leaders of governmental and inter-governmental bodies, civil society, private sector and academia on issues and challenges facing the work of their organisations in the field of global health diplomacy. It brings together perspectives from world leaders such as Jyrki Katainen, Prime Minister of Finland, Jonas Gahr Støre, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway and Chen Zhu, Minister of Health, People's Republic of China. It also includes perspectives from multilateral organisations through articles by Pascal Lamy, Director-General, World Trade Organization and Navi Pillay, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, among others such as WHO Regional Directors.
