Global Migration Thesis Award

Siow Boon CHIA’s thesis is entitled "In the Mountain, by the Sea: Dialectics of Language and Identity among Chinese Overseas" and was written under the supervision of Professor Alessandro Monsutti.

The Programme for the Study of Global Migration (PSGM) has just announced the laureates of its first ever award for brilliant master's theses focusing on Global Migration. Siow Boon CHIA (Master in Anthropology and Sociology of Development) and Yuki KOBAYASHI (Master in Development Studies) were the winners of the 2013 Awards. Congratulations to both laureates!

Siow Boon CHIA’s thesis is entitled "In the Mountain, by the Sea: Dialectics of Language and Identity among Chinese Overseas" and was written under the supervision of Professor Alessandro Monsutti. Yuki KOBAYASHI’s thesis is devoted to "Language Education for Migrant Workers and Their Social Integration in Japan" and was supervised by Professor Slobodan Djajić. The two theses will be published as part of the Global Migration Research Paper Series

The Programme for the Study of Global Migration Award was created to promote innovative and high-quality research on global migration.
