Green Week

Institute environmental committee to hold a series of eco-friendly events starting today.


All week the Graduate Institute Environmental Committee is organising student gatherings to highlight key environmental issues. The events range from film screenings and informal discussions to presentations by guests from organisations such as the World Economic Forum and the Southwestern University of Chengdu, China.

The events are being be held in the Voie Creuse building and environmentally friendly snacks will be served at each. Please see the full programme for more details.

The Environmental Committee is a student initiative part of the Graduate Institute Student Association (GISA) and is managed by the GISA Environmental Affairs Officer, Zuzana Hudáková, a second year Master in International Relations / Political Science student working on a dissertation on the Arab Spring. The committee has 10 core members and 80 supporters to date. In addition to organising events, the Committee also liaises with the Institute’s administration to promote environmental initiatives such as recycling, less paper use and a more bicycle friendly campus. The Committee also promotes sustainability at the Institute and has working groups that focus on specific themes such as the Institute's new Campus de la Paix set to be completed in 2013, and others.
